Concessions in property tax sought to set up EV charging stations

Offer made by the Pune Urban Development Authority to provide concessions in property tax to those who establish EV charging stations evokes good response from housing societies. Many housing societies have decided to set up charging stations. However, they seek more clarity on the extent of the concession in the tax. As people are gradually switching over to use of electric vehicles, many housing societies in Pune have expressed their readiness to set up charging stations, pending fixing the quantum of the concession by the Pune Development Authority. However, the officials of the authority should make a statement on the quantum, appeals Pune District Cooperative Housing Federation Chairman Suhaas Patwardhan.

Several residents welfare associations have been trying to install the EV Charging stations in gated communities in Hyderabad. The SMR Vinay City is ahead of other realtors in this regard. It says that it is engaged in consultation with several service providers. If everything goes well, the EV charging stations will be provided in the SMR Vinay City community. Once the charging stations are established, many people will come forward to buy electric vehicles, SMR Vinay City President King Johnson said.
