The Town and Country Planning Department (DTCP) has stopped the registration of plots in over 19,000 illegal layouts developed without any permits in Andhra Pradesh. These layouts in urban and rural areas were declared illegal and their transactions were suspended. A total of over one lakh acres of land is reported to be in these layouts. The state government has decided to allow registrations in them only after making changes in the regulatory fees and regulations. In this context, the DTCP has sent the details of the respective layouts along with the survey numbers to the Department of Registrations and Stamps. All those who have already bought plots in it are seriously worried about this. However, the government has made it clear that registrations of plots purchased before January 7, 2020 will continue as before.
