Real estate developers have acquired 1,361 acres in seven major cities in the past 16 months, according to property consultant Anarock. The transactions have been made during July last year and November this year. In about 380 acres, they reached agreements for joint development of the property. They took 16 acres on an annual rent lease basis. Thus, transactions took place for a total of 1757 acres. On account of shortage of money, the realty sector was under turbulence for about seven months prior to Covid-19. In the post-Covid scenario, there was inertia in the realty sector four about four or five months. From the third quarter of 2020, the realty sector activities picked up. Several land owners offered to sell their landholdings. Some prominent deals took place in the last year, at more or less the same price points as the previous year, the Anarock said.
