Private Equity (PE) investments are steadily increasing in India. In May alone, 145 deals worth $6.7 billion were concluded. There has been a surge in PE investments in sectors like real estate, commerce, healthcare, and financial services. Mergers and acquisitions accounted for $1.1 billion from 38 deals, while Google’s investment in Flipkart stood out with a whopping $350 million deal. PE investments totaling $4 billion came through 99 deals. The noteworthy aspect is the occurrence of significantly high PE investments post-January.
There are even twelve deals worth more than $100 million each. Presently, investments worth $1.2 billion have been made through 5 IPOs, and through three deals, QIPs have brought in $0.5 billion.
