The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has frozen the bank accounts of Salarpuria Sattva group to the tune of Rs 50 crore in connection with the Heera gold scam. The ED identified that the funds have been routed to shell companies on account of the transactions carried out between the Heera Group and Salarpuria Sattva. Hence, it froze the bank accounts of the real estate group. Under the Money Laundering (Prevention) Act, the ED on Nov 7 conducted raids on Heera Group’s assets of Naushera Sheikh and froze 316 bank accounts of the group.
The ED recovered Rs 29 lakh in cash and currency notes belonging to various countries. It identified that Rs 41 crore have been transferred to Neelanchal Technocrats Pvt Ltd of Bengaluru. The company belongs to the Salarpuria Satta group. Therefore, the ED froze the account of this company too. The ED investigation has revealed that on directions from Salarpuria promoters and directors, the company’s funds have been parked in several shell companies registered in Kolkata and Shillong.
