AP decides to register plots in illegal ventures

The Government of Andhra Pradesh withdrew its decision to suspend the registration of plots in illegal real estate ventures and decided to allow registration of plots in such ventures to increase cash flow to the government. Therefore, it is going to amend the relevant guidelines for the purpose. It may be recalled that the AP Government suspended registration of plots in layouts developed after January 2020. As a result, registration of plots in over 19,000 ventures remained suspended. Cash flow to the state government has been affected for the past five months for want of registration of plots in such v ventures.

Therefore, the government has decided to regularise such layouts by amending the guidelines and pave the way for the registration of plots in such layouts. It asked the Town and Country Planning Department to issue revised guidelines. As per the revised layouts, the width of the roads in the venture would be reduced to 30 feet from 40 feet. In rural areas, if the width of the road is 10 or 15 feet, such ventures are going to be regularized. The stamps and registration department is likely to get orders in this regard soon. The AP government seeks to earn a revenue to the tune of Rs 10,000 crore this year as against Rs 7300 crore last year.
