In a land mark development, the CapitaLand Group of Singapore is going to invest $ 12 billion to set up 36-MW data center in Hyderabad. The CapitaLand India Trust Management reached a MoU with the Government of Telangana to set up the data center on a 2.5-lakh sft. In the first phase, Rs 1200 crore will be invested in the data center project, which has a gestation period of three to five years. The data center to be developed with the most modern amenities will have heightened security, severe thermal control, insulated sub-station and many more features.
The CapitaLand Management has revealed its plans to double the office space in Hyderabad to five-lakh sft in five years and to invest Rs 5000 crore in the data center project in the second phase. India Data Centers MD of CapitaLand Investments Surjit Chatterjee said that the company’s latest Hyderabad project would have the most modern facility. The CapitaLand has three business parks in Hyderabad, trust manager and CEO Sanjeev Das Gupta said. The business parks titled ITPH Cyber Pearl Heavens provide jobs to over 30,000 and fulfill the needs of the international firms coming to Hyderabad. He said that his group developed 25 data centers with 500 MW capacity in Europe and Asia.
