Brought up in Basheerbagh area of Hyderabad, Priya Vadlamani who you will soon see starring alongside Vishwak Sen in Mukhachitram used to live in a rented apartment earlier. Having some adorable memories from her first childhood residence, she shares, “Whenever it used to rain heavily, me and my siblings were out with snow sprays. My favourite past-time used to be filling colors in the drawing room, sitting on the floor. Then I used to jot down a to-do list too!” She is free-spirited and loves natural fabrics and color, says the actress that bohemian decor could be the right style for her dream home. “There are lots of ways to bring in bohemian style decor to your space. I am into arts! I forget all rules when it comes to my personal favourite. Chic-minimal is the way to go. Vintage furniture is the ideal choice, as a store-bought piece would be far too common and things like these.”
A home for nature lover like Priya proves that its the most important factor when buying a home for her and not how close it is to the mall, subway or highway, but how close it is to nature as she speaks to us. She continued, “Growing my own veggies is going to be my thing. Eco-friendly architecture, nestled deep into the forest is what I would love to have. Not just my pet dogs, I would love to accommodate all the animals in my big bunglow.
Especially, cows and pigs. And, with green life in the walls or coming through the floor will be a fulfilling dream home of mine.” To some extent, Priya’s mum gets extremely annoyed when she sees her sitting all by herself in the room. However, what can she do? She clarified, “I am an introvert, just don’t talking on a loop even with my parents. But when people like us sit in the room, the outsiders starts making their misconceptions about us. Hey, I am just there in my bedroom not because I am unfriendly but because I get energy from spending time alone. My mother thinks that’s the worst I have in me, she thinks I am shutting down. No I’m not, i take a longer time to process that’s all. And, I am not quite literally alone in my room — I have my pet dog with me and that’s a therapy in its own.”
Choosing to build her dream home to be Dharamkot, she took a surprising turn in the dream home segment. “It serves you an exotic beauty, i was there for a pottery workshop recently and it’s a trap! You wouldn’t want to return. I am a mountain lover, so being true to my emotions: if i wasn’t an actress, I would have never been in Hyderabad. I am still planning to shift to the mountains of northern side! I am ready to come to Hyderabad only for shooting purposes. The small village has my heart. It’s a perfect break away from a rigourous life.” In love with Vannessa Hudgens home, Priya Vadlamani really likes the way she built a sanctuary of her own. “The best part is its adjacent to Hollywood hills. It’s covered in ivy, surrounded by olive trees and feels like France.”
