Hydraa is changing with the times. Originally formed with the slogan of protecting government lands from encroachment, Hydraa has been taking on new programs every month. It started with land encroachments, then demolitions in the Musi river basin, followed by constructions on footpaths, and later activities like filling lakes, planting trees, and traffic control. Now, Hydraa is focusing on protecting the canals, patrolling the city saying they will remove any illegal constructions on the canals.
However, the GHMC is now expressing anger towards Hydraa’s actions against constructions on the canals, questioning, "Whose job is this anyway? Yours or ours?"
