Here is a piece of good news to people living in LB Nagar and 44 colonies in five Assembly constituencies in Hyderabad. The Government of Telangana resolved the land registration problem that remained a hard nut to crack for the past 15 years. To regularize the government lands, encroached by the poor who have built homes on the lands, the state government brought out GO No. 118. As per the GO, the land below 1000 square yards would be regularized by collecting a penalty of Rs 250 per square yard. Moreover, the government facilitated the residents to pay the amount in six equal installments.
According to Municipal Administration Minister KT Rama Rao, the colonies’ people have been fighting for the past 15 years seeking patta for the lands. In this backdrop, all measures initiated so that no legal problems cropped up in taking steps to regularize the said lands. After making an application, the said lands would be regularized in six months and then patta to the land would be given to the residents. These 44 colonies are located in Rajendra Nagar, Jubilee Hills, Nampally, karwan, Medchal and LB Nagar constituencies in Hyderabad district. The problem regarding registration of lands in these colonies persisted since 2007.
