RERA Arrest warrant on CHD Developers

RERA has issued an arrest warrant against two directors of CHD Developers for not paying a refund of over Rs.1 crore owed to a buyer and for not implementing the orders given by them. It directed the police commissioner to arrest the company’s directors Gaurav Mittal and Virender Singh and produce them before them. A man named Abhinet Aggarwal bought a flat in CHD Van residential project in Gurgaon in 2015 by paying Rs.1.11 crore. However, he approached Haryana RERA in 2019 to return his money as the flat was not handed over within the stipulated time.

After hearing the arguments, the RERA Gurgaon bench issued its verdict on February 21, 2021. The developer was ordered to return the money paid by the complainant. It also directed the directors of CHD to file an affidavit. However, the said directors did not return the money to Agarwal. Affidavits were also not filed. Taking this seriously, RERA has issued a warrant for the arrest of both of them.
