Real estate in Hyderabad has slowed down. In the January-March quarter of this year, the supply of new homes decreased. Only 8,773 new units were launched in these three months, compared to 14,802 units during the same period last year. Across the nine major cities in the country, new home supply decreased by 34% in the first quarter of this year, with 80,774 units launched, as per data analysis by real estate research firm Prop Equity.
In the first quarter of the previous year, 1,22,365 units were launched in these cities. Breaking it down by cities, Kolkata saw the largest decline, with new home supply dropping by 62%, reaching only 1,874 units, compared to 4,964 units during the same period last year. In Mumbai, 6,359 new units were launched, a decrease from 12,480 units last year. Navi Mumbai saw a 24% decrease with 5,810 new homes launched. Pune’s supply decreased by 48%, with 12,479 units launched. Thane saw 11,205 new units launched, down by 50% from 22,595 units last year. In Delhi NCR, the supply decreased by 14%, with 10,101 units launched.
However, Bengaluru showed a different trend. The supply of new homes increased by 17% between January and March 2025, with 20,227 units launched, compared to 17,303 units during the same period last year. Chennai also saw a 46% increase in supply, with 3,946 units launched.
