PE Investments down in realty

Private equity (PE) investments in the Indian real estate sector have seen a decline. PE Investments down in realty According to the real estate consultancy firm Anarock Capital, PE investments in the 2024-25 financial year decreased by 3% compared to the previous year, totaling $3.7 billion. In the previous year, these investments were recorded at $3.8 billion. The decline is attributed to the reduced investments in office buildings.

The highest PE investments were recorded in 2020-21, amounting to $6.4 billion, but this figure dropped to $4.3 billion in 2021-22. Although investments rose slightly to $4.4 billion in 2022-23, they have since declined again. Anarock Capital’s MD & CEO, Shobhit Agarwal, mentioned that PE investments in domestic real estate have been on the decline for the past five years, with a 43% decrease from $6.4 billion to $3.7 billion.
