K. Johnson, 9030034591 : Real estate experts say that there will be no loss to the real estate sector of Hyderabad due to the suspension of the Raidurgam to Shamshabad metro rail line by the newly formed Revanth Reddy government in the state of Telangana. This is because the city’s construction sector is not heavily dependent on the metro route. It is known that every international airport in the world has metro rail connectivity. Thinking from that perspective, the previous government started the metro works on the Raidurgam to Shamshabad route. Apart from being an additional attraction for Hyderabad, it is said that it has not reached the level of ruling the realty market.
After the emergence of Telangana state, the then Chief Minister KCR was completely against the establishment of metro trains in the city. He didn’t want Metro to run in front of the Assembly. Hence, the metro train services started in Hyderabad after a year and a half delay. The previous Congress leaders condemned the BRS government on the same issue. During the 2018 elections, some leaders also campaigned on the same issue. Now, the same Congress government that has come to power recently in Telangana is behaving the same by objecting to the construction of metro rail connectivity from Raidurgam to Shamshabad.
Did CM Revanth Reddy alone take the decision to suspend the Raidurgam to Shamshabad metro line? Or did the Telangana Congress cabinet take a collective decision? The people of the city are raising many doubts regarding this. In any case, it is true that IT experts and expatriate Indians were shocked by this decision taken by the government. The people of Telangana are upset that after taking power, instead of focusing on developing the state, they are taking decisions that hinder the development of the city.
It should be noted that the development of Hyderabad is not dependent on the Raidurgam-Shamshabad Metro Corridor. Because it is known that people living in West Hyderabad mostly depend on cabs to go to the airport, Some of them also go to the airport in RTC buses if possible. So, the government should know that no one buys flats in Kokapat or the Financial District just because of metro rail connectivity. If metro rail is established, it will be an added convenience. Hyderabad will then become a benchmark. Moreover, the sale of flats in Kokapet and Narsingi is not going down due to the non-arrival of the metro. Therefore, people want Revanth Reddy’s thinking to change as soon as possible, just like former CM KCR, regarding metro trains.
