- Demolition of twin towers in Noida
The state has been set for demolition of Supertech’s twin towers in Noida at 2.30 pm on August 21. The process to fix explosives in the building will begin on Aug 2 and will last till Aug 20. The explosives will be triggered at the appointed muhurat on August 21, according to information provided by the agency undertaking the task to pull down the structures to Noida Authority. It made it clear that it will not allow any outsiders near the structure while fixing explosives by the agencies employees.
It may be recalled that the Supreme Court ordered demolition of the twin towers, built in violation of the rules. The representatives of Supertech, Edifice Engineering, UP Pollution Control Board, Fire department, local police department had a meeting on how to go about the demolition.
Noida Authority CEO Ritu Maheswari presided over the meeting. Making holes in the pillars in various floors of the two structures has been completed to fix explosives there. From August 2 to 20, explosives will be placed in these holes. At that time, the area will be cordoned off and none else, except Edifice Engineering personnel, will be allowed near the structure, according to a statement made by Noida Authority. The demolition will be captured on the CCTV cameras.
