Investing in Indian office space is getting priority because of organisational investors, increased investment opportunities, elastic demand, and opportunities to withdraw investment in the form of REITs. The data centre sector in the country is growing fast. The sector is poised to attract investments to the tune of $10 billion in the next three years.
Stable income and higher results prompt investors to make special investments in the development of data centers. Since 2020, investments in data centres have crossed $1.1 billion.
While global investors continue to dominate fund activity with higher participation in entity-led deals, domestic investors have also become more active in the market. Performance credit, special situations, portfolio acquisitions, asset restructuring, and related structures are increasing. “Foreign investors are considering which big markets they can invest in. India has been a net recipient in this regard, particularly in the office and logistics sectors. Despite the dominance of Canada and Singapore, our country has become an institutional market,” said Chris Pilgrim, Managing Director, Global Capital Markets, Asia Pacific.
