How to go about pulling down the Super Tech’s twin towers in Noida. Civic authorities are holding discussions on how to accomplish the task as the deadline awarded by Supreme Court is drawing nearer. The court set November 30 as the deadline to pull down the structures.
Pending finalization of an action plan by officials on razing the towers to the ground, locals are worried whether the demolition of the structures takes place at all before the deadline.
The apex court on August 31 ruled to demolish the structure in three months and set November 30 as the deadline for the same.
In this backdrop, officials belonging to three companies and UK and US experts had discussions with Noida civic authorities. However, none appears to have suggested a viable plan.
An official of the Noida Development Authority who wished o remain anonymous said the meeting saw companies explaining the officials’ demolition projects they handled and their experience in the relevant field. They claim their safe demolition to availability of plenty of space around the buildings.
But the Noida development authority official says that there is no such scope in Super Tech twin towers. There is the risk of debris falling on the adjacent 12-storey structure while pulling down the Super Tech’s twin towers as the distance between the two buildings is only 9 meters.
Currently, many families live in the 12-storey structure. However, the meeting have discussed about the scope of razing the structures to the ground towards the road and park side. The Noida authority official felt that this is the only option before the demolition workers.
