Can we expect such action in Telangana?

The Haryana Town and Country Planning Department (DTCP) team has cancelled the Occupancy Certificates of 41 buildings for the fault of the home owners incorporating changes in the structures having obtained the OCs. The DTCP registered cases against the property owners, architects and contractors too. These properties are located in licenses colonies of Gurgaon like Palam Vihar, Uppal Southend, Vipul World, Sun City, DLF-1, Vatika Sector-83, DFL Alameda, according to a DTCP official.

Upon receiving complaints that home owners incorporated changes in their homes after obtaining the occupancy certificates, DTCP director KM Pandrang constituted a five-member team. The team inspected the buildings and confirmed deviations in the building plan. The team members inspected the buildings after 10 days of issuing the OC. Again the properties were inspected after 45 days. The team identified changes in the front and rear and also stilt parking. Accordingly, action has been taken against the home owners. First and foremost, the team cancelled the OCs.

A senior officer of the DTCP said that the team identified additional structures built in the property and changes effected to the property in violation of the approved home plan. In some residential homes, commercial activities are also taking place. Therefore, action has been initiated against them. In Telangana, there is no such situation in which either the RERA or municipal would initiate such disciplinary measures.
