The State Consumers Complaints’ Redressal Commission (SCRC) has breathed fire on promoters of Aliens Space Station project for inordinate delaying execution of the apartments’ project at Tellapur in Medak district. In 2008, the promoters of the project attracted buyers and some buyers even booked flats in Aliens Space Station. But, the promoter did not handover the flats even 10 years after the expiry of the deadline to hand over the flats. Therefore, three individuals approached the SCRC against the promoters. On hearing both sides, the commission felt that there is deficiency of services on the part of the promoters.
The commission ruled that the promoters pay 9% for the 10 year period on the Rs 20.84 lakh investment of Hemalata Kishore of Mumbai, Rs 22.85 lakh investment of Hasmukh Mohan Babaria and Rs 20.6 lakh investment of Hyderabad resident Muralidhar Vasanabhi. Besides, the promoter is asked to pay a compensation of Rs 1 lakh to each of these persons along with expenses of Rs 10,000.
