Miyapur-Hafeezpet master plan road should be laid immediately!

  • 150 feet road allocated in HUDA Master Plan 2020
  • Biggest mistake in erstwhile Andhra Pradesh
  • Municipal department should correct it immediately
  • Should remove traffic police station
  • 100 feet left for road in the layout
  • Govt must develop this 150 feet road

King Johnson Koyyada: To travel from Miyapur to Hitec city, one should either take a right turn from the Miyapur junction and go via Allwyn Colony junction or take a left turn to Madhapur and Gachibowli via Hyder Nagar and JNTU. However, it would be surprising to know for many people that HUDA Master Plan 2020 has included a 150 feet road from Miyapur directly to Hafeezpet. Obviously, some invisible forces are pressurising the officials not to develop this master plan road, despite people struggling in heavy traffic to travel from Miyapur to Hitec city. Experts say that this is the main reason for the increase in traffic congestion on Allwyn junction and JNTU Crossroads. With a master plan clearly demarcated, the rulers should know why this road is not developed if they have any concern for their citizens.

By developing this master plan road from Miyapur junction to Hitec City via Hafeezpet, the distance can be reduced by about 2-3 km. The MMTS railway station is also easily accessible. Moreover, the newly built Kaithalapur Flyover is easily accessible via the Manjeera pipeline road. Even though this road was included in the HUDA 2020 master plan for the benefit of the people, it did not materialise for reasons best know to the authorities concerned. More than ten new gated communities are coming up between Miyapur and Coca Cola junction along the main road as well as surrounding areas. As a result, the traffic will increase further in future and life will become a living hell for commuters. At present, it takes more than 30 minutes to travel from Coca Cola Junction to Miyapur during peak hours. Once people start residing in all these gated communities, the traffic will become uncontrollable. Moreover, there are plenty of chances that more new structures will be built in the surrounding areas of Miyapur Metro. Therefore, considering the increased traffic, the authorities should make available the Hafeezpet road-Miyapur junction master plan road immediately.

Upon a close look on the Google maps, one can easily discover that a 100 feet road has been left in a layout on the rear side of the existing traffic police station at Miyapur junction. If this traffic police station is removed and the 100 feet road can be laid easily without requiring to take up any demolitions or property acquisitions. Moreover, it will develop as a trade route. Further, if a new link road is developed between the two tanks on the Hafeezpet-Miyapur master plan road, people will benefit a lot. Traffic pressure on both Miyapur and Allwyn Colony crossroads will be largely reduced. Municipal Administration Minister KT Rama Rao should focus on the issue and correct the mistakes that the erstwhile Andhra Pradesh government had done. GHMC, which has built many new link roads during the lockdown period and won public approval, should develop this 150 feet HUDA master plan road immediately. The Hafeezpet flyover relieved people from a lot of suffering. It is now the time for developing the master plan road to reduce traffic congestion further.
