In a move initiated to extend support to realty sector, the government of West Bengal has decided to extend the stamp duty reduction till March 2023.The facility has been extended twice. More recently, the extension was continued as a Dasara gift to the people of the state. The real estate sector is happy with the decision. “We consider the Bengal government’s decision to extend the concession in stamp duty and circle rate as a Durga Puja gift. This decision is likely to increase the sales in the real estate sector,” said CREDAI Bengal President Sushil Mehta. He said that he wants the government to continue the 2 per cent concession in stamp duty forever.
