UP RERA cracked the whip on those who failed to implement its orders and fined 13 promoters of various real estate development projects to the tune of Rs 1.39 crore. It asked the realtors to pay the fine in 30 days. It is not only disposing of the complaints from the buyers immediately but also it initiates action to enforce its orders for speedy and effective implementation.
As part of the exercise, it reviewed the implementation of its orders and identified that 13 promoters did not implement them at all. Therefore, the UP RERA took action against them under Section 38/63 of the RERA Act. It imposed five percent of the project cost as fine on them. It asked the promoters to submit it full report within 15 days.
UPRERA Chairman Rajiv Kumar said that the RERA is taking stern action against the violators of the RERA rules to protect the interests of buyers and imposing fines on the promoters violating the rules.
