The Noida civic authorities have decided not to give permissions to construct residential projects that do not offer charging stations for electric vehicles to customers. The authorities also have amended the building manual -2010. As per the amendment, at least 20 percent area of the parking space should house the EV charging stations.
The state government also approved to the amendment. Therefore, installation of EV charging station is going to be compulsory for each residential, industrial and commercial building. The decision was taken to increase the use of electric vehicles in Noida. Currently, there are only 99 electric cars and 1600 electric bikes in Noida.
There are 54 EV charging stations across the city. Ninety three more are going to be established here. As per the Paris Agreement, the emission of CFCs should be reduced in the country by 33 to 35 percent by 2030. That is why; it is decided to promote the use of EVs.
