CM KCR should focus on construction sector!

Even after all the Telangana construction associations unanimously held a one-day bandh, the State government appears to have not even noticed it. Although more than three lakh workers refrained from construction work for an entire day, the government did not respond. The higher authorities appear to be of the opinion that there was no imminent harm to anyone or anything, if the construction work was stalled for a day or two.

The builders associations have earlier informed that they were holding the bandh to voice their concerns. In fact, if the State government took the issue seriously and grilled the Centre on rising costs of construction material, the entire construction industry in India would have sung paeans of Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao.

Addressing the problems being faced by the real estate sector in the country is not a big deal. The government only requires to think innovatively. After the emergence of Telangana, Chief Minister KCR did the same. While attending CREDAI’s Hyderabad Property Show as the chief guest, he announced a number of incentives to the sector which in turn boosted the sales as well as construction work.

Similarly, if the Centre gives a small boost to the real sector, the Indian realty sector too could compete with the rest of the world. But which national leader has the foresight of our CM KCR? Hence, he should take the initiative and address the issues of the construction sector which is second largest employer after after the agriculture sector in the State. The rest of the Chief Ministers as well as the Union government would then follow his footsteps.
