The word Jammu and Kashmir conjures up images of terrorists, patrolling, and attacks. But on the other hand, it conjures up images of beautiful mountains, apple orchards, Dal Lake, and a pleasant atmosphere during the summer. Three decades ago, Kashmir was the heaven for all film shoots. Real estate did not develop in the heaven on earth – Jammu and Kashmir – due to various reasons.
But, there is sea change in the situation in the state. Real estate is developing in that state. Several investors have been eyeing Kashmir across the nation. The Real Estate Summit held on Dec 27 became successful. It is indicative of the promise the realty sector is going to enjoy in the state.
The summit has seen investors entering 39 agreements worth Rs 18,300 crore investments. Taking part in the summit, Union Minister Hardeep Singh Puri and Union Minister of State Jitender Singh and several bigwigs from the realty sector took part in the event. From Telugu states NAREDCO members PS Reddy, Prem Kumar, Haribabu and Sridhar Reddy and others took part in the programmes. Under the aegis of the NAREDCO, the summit was held on Dec 27. Prior to the summit on Dec 25, a workshop was held with architects and planners to evolve various policies. The meeting discussed measures to secure permissions as early as possible.
