The LRS scheme introduced by the state government to regulate the illegal real estate ventures is challenged in court. Categorisation of applications lodged to benefit under the Land Regularisation Scheme is under way. However, the state government has appointed a sub-committee to go into the problem of illegal lay outs, house sites and open plots in the state. The committee will be headed by Municipal Administration Minister KT Rama Rao while Secretary Arvind Kumar will officiate as the convener. The committee will go into unofficial lay-outs, regularising house sites and look into the problems of grama kantam lands and other relevant issues.
Several realtors have been awed at the constitution of the sub-committee. They also appeal to the government to constitute a sub-committee to go into selling of flats and plots in the name of the pre-launch without the permission of the RERA. Some perpetrators of this illegal activity are even going to the extent of collecting 100 per cent of the cost of the project from the innocent people claiming that they are offering property at less cost. They also want the government to look into the delay occurring in granting permissions to real estate projects.
