RegNews, Hyderabad: Awards are not new to Dr GBK Rao, who was the recipient of several national and international awards. In a latest development, he received the award of leader with a strategic vision presented by Agri Business Summit and Agri Awards. Dr Rao received the award as a result of his hard work spanning over several decades to maintain good standards in production of medicinal herbs.
He created a wonderful healing garden near Sankarpalli titled Sudhaama, where the pollution, bacterial and virus infections are not known. In 1994, he raised the garden to create a society which is free from hunger, mosquitoes, bad bacteria and virus-fee, and free from diseases.
Since 1988, Pragati Group has been producing Ayurvedic medicines for bacterial, viral and general diseases. Dr GBK Rao has foresight made him a great leader. His fore sight helped society in many ways. Preserving Indian Vedic culture, he followed the example of the axiom let us protect the trees which in turn will protect us (Vruksho Rakshati Rakshataha) and create greenery. He is also into protecting the cows.
He is implementing the principles enshrined in the work “Kalpavrukshalu-Kamadhenuvulu”. For the last two and half decades, he planted 45-lakh medicinal and aromatic plants in 2500-acre garden raised on waste lands.He is the leader who is directing his Pragati Group on the road to progress. He always believes that if we safeguard the earth by conserving biodiversity, it will in turn protect us. He advocates that there is space for all living things and suggested people to live close to Nature.
If we visit the Pragati Sudhaama bio-diversity garden, 45 lakh species of plants and trees welcome us. The aromatic smell coming from millions of herbal plants will negate the pollution in the region. The objective of Dr Rao to create heaven on earth has been fulfilled.
