During election time, when there was cash flow in action, police filed a case against a builder for illegally affixing a sticker on a car for collecting unauthorized funds. Chandrakant Gandhi, a builder based in Mumbai, was found to have affixed an MLA sticker on his car to collect unauthorised funds. A social activist, taking note of this, filed a complaint with the Election Commission. The commission forwarded the case to the police in Ghatkopar. Consequently, police registered a case against Chandrakant and his associates, including Kumar, Ashish, Manish, and Nilesh. Subsequently, Maruti Brezza, the car on which the sticker was affixed, was confiscated.
In reality, only elected representatives should affix MLA stickers on their cars. However, many individuals illegally affix MLA and MP stickers on their vehicles and move around. Such actions are illegal. Chandrakant was accused of affixing a sticker on his car to collect unauthorized funds. Meanwhile, police arrested the four associates but spared Chandrakant, who had bailed out beforehand.
