- All set for pulling down of Super Tech’s twin towers
- The Muhurat was fixed as 2.30 pm on May 22
- At least 4 tons of explosives to be used
The stage has been set for pulling down the Super Tech’s twin towers in Noida at 2.30 pm on May 22 following the Supreme Court orders. It will take only nine seconds to raze the 22-storey structures to the ground. It may be recalled that the Supreme Court ordered demolition of the twin towers delivering a decision on the fate of the twin towners on August 31 last year. It is pertinent to note that the twin towers are going to be a part of the history in just nine seconds exactly nine months after the SC verdict.
It is estimated that explosives weighing 4000 kg are necessary to raze the structure to the ground. The explosives should be fixed in the building columns of the twin cities. At the press of the button, the magnificent structure will come down crashing, leaving no trace of its existence at all. The structures disappear from the Noida’s landscape. Edifice engineering company will carry out the demolition. The company has gone on record saying that it will first deal with the 31-storey and 97-metre tall Ceyane which will go down crashing first. Milliseconds later, the 32-storey and 100-metre-tall Apex tower will meet with the same fate as that of Ceyane.
The Edifice Engineering Company has explained that one floor after the other gradually come down crashing. The primary blast floors have been identified as the first, second, sixth, 10th, 14th, 18th, 22nd, 26th and 30th floors. Explosives will be fixed in all columns of these floors. The secondary blast floors have been identified as the fourth floor, eighth floor, 12th floor, 16th floor, 20th floor, 24th floor and 28th floor. Explosive material will be fixed in 40 per cent of the columns of these structures. The total requirement of the explosives would be in the range between 2500 to 4000 kg, according to Edifice’s partner Utkarsh Meta. The joint venture partner of Edifice – Jet Demolitions of the South Africa – will supervise the whole operations.
Around 1,500 families living in close vicinity to the towers located in sector 93A would be moved out of their homes for around five hours when the implosion takes place at 2.30 pm on May 22. All precautions will be put in place so as not to cause any damage to the neighbouring structures due to the demolition. Prior to the demolition, window frames, grills, doors, wiring, plumbing material would be removed. Three hours prior to the demolition, the families would be relocated to a safer place. They will be allowed to go back to their homes after two hours of the demolition. The Noida Express Way will be closed down for traffic for one hour.
