Actress Kajal Aggarwal is one of the most loved actresses in the South Indian film industry. She gathered recognition through her Telugu film Chandamama and followed by Magadheera. The actress recently got married to Gautam Kitchlu, a Mumbai-based businessman. “My house has got a living room designed with a minimalistic approach. There is a wall made up of bricks and was designed in a circular shape. The room also has a personal space, where I keep a flexible metal and glass table that can be opened at convenience,” she shared.
A kind of minimalist home devoid of character and fun and life? Some might think so, but she get a strange satisfaction, a fulfillment, at looking around and seeing a home free of clutter. It’s calming, and liberating, and just nice for her! Continuing, “The house is mostly painted white to keep the interior bright both day and night. The bedroom has a window to welcome the morning sunlight. There is a table near the bed and one at the corner that held a set of books.” All-white interiors are far from plain. These layered, perfected spaces beam with natural light and textural delights.
In fact, because it’s done right, her white home interior is warm, inviting, and attractive. Opening up about the house, Aggarwal told, “This particular house has been home for us even before I was born. My parents were here for quite a few years and then I was born into this house. I have lived here all my life. Every big celebration that I can associate with has always been in this house.”
Then comes her reading space where Kajal Aggarwal usually likes to pick her favourite books from the inbuilt library and also sit for her story narrations. This area of the house instantly brightens up with the stunning custom-made rug, which is an artisanal piece, created in Jaipur, Rajasthan. The space not only gives a comforting vibe but is aesthetically appealing too.
One of the main highlights of the house is a wall fixture consisting of the hand-painted linen of a gold foil Nandi installed in a glass with a backlight. “I love hosting friends and family at my home, so i have a super functional bar installed which comes with a stylish metal and design table. Home for me has just become like a holiday space, so when I have a couple of days off, I come back home.”
The actress often curls up in a special corner of her house, next to the balcony, where she loves playing chess, enjoying a good coffee and spending time with her friends. Kajal Aggarwal fondly calls her home, her grounding factor where she loves coming back to her family and a space that she finds secure, comfortable and extremely nurturing.
