The guidelines for the prestigious Indiramma Housing Scheme, initiated by the Congress government, are almost finalised. After studying the policies followed by various state governments for the construction of houses for the poor in other states, our state’s officials have submitted their report to the government. Based on this report, the guidelines for the Indiramma houses will soon be finalised.
According to the proposals, an Indiramma house will be granted only if the beneficiary has at least 60 square yards of land. The officials have drafted recommendations accordingly. Beneficiaries can design their house plans as per their preferences, but the house must include at least one hall, one bedroom, a kitchen, and a bathroom.
The state government will provide Rs 5 lakh in installments for each Indiramma house.
