Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin has launched a new housing scheme for the registered members of the Tamil Nadu Construction Workers Welfare Board offering Rs.4 lakh subsidy for the construction of house by the members. In the first phase, the scheme will be applicable to 100 beneficiaries benefiting them to the tune of Rs.400 crore.
In a statement, the government said that the scheme would benefit 10,000 people.Tamil Nadu Construction Labor Welfare Board has been constituted for the welfare of construction workers. The board provides assistance to the workers children’s education and marriages. During May 2021 to October 2022, an assistance of Rs.322 crore has been provided to more than 4 lakh beneficiaries. The board has over 7.1 lakh members.
