In spite of the real estate prices on the rise, bank lending rates become costlier, several persons are marching ahead on the path to fulfil their dream of owning a roof over their head, if the increased borrowing of people to build homes is any indication. According to the RBI statistics, the last fiscal year saw home loans crossing Rs 19.36 lakh-crore mark, registering a 15% increase compared to home loans advanced the previous year. As on March 2022, the total quantum of home loans was put at Rs 16.84 lakh-crore increasing from Rs 14.92 lakh-crore as on March-end of 2021. The advancement of personal loans this year has also registered an increase by at least 20.6% compared to the previous year.
