Amaal Malik happily relived his childhood memories of the first residence he ever lived in with us. He flooded us with so many enchanting memories that we couldn’t stop listening to him. He didn’t see this coming, when we angled him for a trip down memory lane he got all excited. He shared, “My mum always told me that I hated anyone touching my home, basically I didn’t appreciate interior designers coming over. I was against renovations when I was just a little child. A broken stone used to pinch my heart as a toddler. All I used to do was sing out loudly, especially the songs from movie ‘Darr’. Till date, I have no idea why.
That first ever home echoes with the music of 90s.” Bringing his fuzzy thoughts about a dream home with full focus with us, he continued, “My mum has a fantastic interior designing brain herself! Our current home is a reflection of her thoughts. I just know how to do music, I leave all of this to her. I never even thought about this until today. This department isn’t suitable for me interestingly.” Many a times amaal must have seen his tiles changing or maybe the walls coming down but we are sure all those alterations must have left him feeling like someone erased a previous part, yet he knows how to play host to newer stuff.
He also mentioned, “Armaan just bought his dream home, we have the studio in the same building. That’s our space! You’ll see a futuristic vision to it. Both of us will be jamming together. We know it for sure that mom is going to take over and design it like a boss.” It’s absolutely freeing if the specific interests of building a home is attuned accordingly.
He is okay with what his mother exactly wants to build for him! And, the Malik family is neither limited by budget nor limitations. “This is my kind off question, count me in for any place where none can reach out to me for a while. I like to detox myself! A mountain-side villa will be best, and there should be no network in my phone. I don’t want to lift anymore calls, yikes! We all like to rejuvenate.
I would kill to have this life,” he added. He is not faced with the responsibility of making decisions about the details, so naturally he don’t go paralyzed by all the possibilities — he has a pot full of it to explore. Their vision to a dream home isn’t the ultimate and that’s what we liked too. He concluded, “Obviously, you’ll see me spending most of the time in my home-studio. Whenever free, I go meet my family and chill. All the cinema music is happening there, it’s hard for me to escape from that room although no complaints about it! It’s made me into the singer-composer Amaal Malik. Having said that, I happened to visit Priyanka Chopra Jonas’s Mumbai pad & I was floored. She really has some designing skills.”
