Hyderabad would become a sewerage tank

  • This would happen if GO 111 is revoked
  • Senior journalist Pasham Yadagiri asserts

Senior journalist Pasham Yadagiri said that upon revoking GO 111, Hyderabad would surely turn into a sewerage tank. People who said Hyderabad Zindabad till recently, would not hesitated to raise slogans of Hyderabad Murdabad. Hyderabad has been synonymous with a pleasant and healthy environment and if GO 111 is repealed, all of this would be lost. He warned that after repealing GO 111, two large sewerage tanks can be seen filled with seven crore cubic feet of dirty water. He asked whether anyone would live in Hyderabad, if it turns into a sewerage tank. This would have adverse impact on the IT industry, with majority of the IT companies and subsequently about 10 lakh employees, moving out of the city. With the IT industry suffering a blow, the real estate sector is also expected to suffer. Hence, the realtors too are opposing the government’s move, he said.

Yadagiri alleged that there was a conspiracy behind the repealing the GO 111 and that Chief Minister KCR was opening doors for the realty mafia. Further, he claimed that with the support of the ruling party, the realty mafia was planning to encroach upon these valuable lands. He said when the poor lived in these villages, the GO 111 was implemented. Now that the realtors drove them away and purchased their lands for cheaper prices, the GO 111 was being revoked. However, he was confident that these lands will not get any permissions due to violation of various environmental issues and laws, but felt that the realty mafia would sell off these lands soon. He criticised that all the political parties are united on this matter and hence, no one was speaking against the government’s decision.
