TPCC Chief Revanth Reddy said that they have chalked out a master plan to comprehensively develop the entire Telangana, apart from Hyderabad. It was explained that underground roads will be constructed in Hyderabad using tunnel bore machinery. Musi encroachments will be removed, Musi in Nalgonda district will be beautified, and business activities will be arranged on both sides, he said. He revealed in a press conference what they plan to do regarding the development of the state.
“It is untrue and baseless to claim that Hyderabad will become another Amaravati if Congress comes to power. Starting from the Outer Ring Road, the airport and Hi-Tech city all came during the Congress regime. Hi-Tech City was built by Chandrababu Naidu. But it was Nedurumalli Janardhan Reddy who laid the foundation stone for it. Metro, Outer Ring Road, IT companies, international airports, and pharma companies in Hyderabad came under the Congress regime. During Congress’ regime, Hyderabad created Rs. 60,000 crores of income and wealth. But now Hyderabad is in a state of harm due to arbitrary permissions and wrong policies,” said Revanth.
“There will be an urban policy till the Hyderabad Outer Ring Road, a semi-urban policy from the outer to the regional ring road, and a rural policy from the regional ring road to the borders of Telangana. We have a mega-master plan to comprehensively develop Telangana by 2050. We will implement it 100% and make Hyderabad a globally recognised investment city,” expressed Revanth, adding, “Today, the whole of Musi is encroached. Technology has increased around the world. Cities like Venice have water flow within the city itself. Krishna and Godavari water will be supplied through pipe lines by removing encroachments from Himayatsagar and Gandipet. If necessary, check dams will be established and water levels will be maintained. Also, we will set up business complexes on both sides of the river. In Nalgonda district, there is a good chance of comprehensive development up to Musi Reservoir. But today, Musi is polluted badly. We will not only clean up the muck but also make Hyderabad a world destination. We will implement the wonderful plan around Musi in PPP mode without burdening the government with huge money.”
A tunnel boring machine (TBM) is a machine that digs tunnels underground. Tunnelling is done by drilling. Usually, these machines weigh more than 6 thousand tonnes and are more than 150 metres long. It works in a variety of soils, from volcanic rocks to sandy or clayey soils. These are powered by a motor with a hydraulic or electric system. We have several TBMs available to dig a tunnel of any size we need. However, the cost of TBMs is very high. A TBM with a diameter of 4 to 6 metres costs 11 million euros (about Rs. 100 crores), while a TBM with a diameter of 15 metres costs 25 million euros (about Rs. 223 crores).
