TS Govt stops farm plots registration

Cashing in on the new-found love of people for weekend getaways, a large number of ventures offering farm plots are mushrooming within 100 km distance from Hyderabad city. With some realtors developing these plots without obtaining proper permissions from the urban/rural local bodies and duping the innocent buyers, the Municipal Administration and Urban Development department has recently written to the Stamps and Registrations department.

Accordingly, the Registrations departments will not allow registration of farm plots admeasuring less than 2,000 square metres (half an acre) without valid permissions. As per the latest guidelines, the real estate companies can sell farm plots of less than 2,000 square metres area only upon paying necessary charges to the local bodies and obtaining the layout permissions as per the existing regulations. Therefore, buyers are requested to be cautious and check whether the company selling the farm plots obtained all permissions in accordance with this new regulation.
