Sree Ramachandra dreams of yachts, helipad & fleet of cars
Having a property of your own isn’t it a dream of many? For the popular Tollywood singer Sreerama Chandra—life is all about balancing only. He has been balancing his expenses, his two-way rides from Hyderabad to Mumbai in the initial days if struggle and his own aspirations to own up to a reality of his own.
When in an exclusive conversation with him, we learnt, “Grew up in Hyderabad, graduated from here. I wanted to live in this city for an extended time post that, wanted to grow my career primarily here however post Indian Idol—i had to shift my base to Mumbai to become national centric. 2011-2020, Mumbai was booming for musicians like us. After bigg boss Telugu, i realised the love for my home-town Hyderabad even more. The stars started to align, work started to come up from here! My house is even more spacious here, it’s bigger. There are silly reasons for me to stay here, like, can drive around more here. Mumbai doesn’t sleep by the way, nobody is bothered about what are you upto.”
Recollecting his childhood home memories, he shared, “We haven’t changed the home since then—have seen my father build this home from scratch. From building pillars to going to the market with my mum, i have seen it all. From the ground floor, he built another floor for his office arena because he is an advocate. He didn’t leave it there, he continued to expand it more and the third was solely for my happiness. My pets grew up here and i am fondly attached to them. We adopted a stray dog too and gave it a shelter. Now, i have six cats and we all live under one roof.”
What changed after become a star? “I have stayed in homes where there was always a power-cut, where I didn’t have the luxury to own an air conditioner—i needeed it all now. I have built my own studio now with all the sophisticated equipment! I am getting to live in the most expensive hotels, i value it more now.” What if he had all the money in this world, what would he come up with? “Well, I am not interested in a luxury property, instead want the right companion to live with. I am okay with a 1bhk also buy with the right person in my life who truly loves me. That’s what I observed! It’s been so long I had lived alone, especially in Bombay, i am still unmarried. I want people around me to be loyal to the core.”
Where will we find the singer when not shooting? He uttered, “I love working out, love recordings, binge-watching, but i am not the outdoor kind of a person. Like lazying around! I desire to build a house by a beach or a lake, just in case. Wet weather, surrounded by forest, wood construction maybe. Or, a, house by the beach. However, i know for a fact, my electronics and cars would go for a toss due to the salinity present in such areas. Yacht, helipad for a chopper and fleet of cars—always have dreamt of!” Continuing the insightful conversation he mentions, “I like the way Mika paaji (Mika Singh) lives a luxurious life. He’s got a farm-house of his own. There is stable for numerous horses there! He has a party place of his own, lavish cars. So, my dream home coincides a little bit with Dwayne Johnson and that’s how I would love to live too.”
