Sharukh moves to a rented house

  • Bollywood Badshah is vacating Mannat and moving to a rented flat.
  • Monthly rent: Rs 24 lakh.

Bollywood’s Badshah, Shah Rukh Khan, is set to vacate his iconic mansion, Mannat, and move into a rented apartment. The superstar and his family will stay in a rental home for at least two years, as Mannat undergoes renovations.

Located in Mumbai’s Bandra Bandstand, Mannat is a major tourist attraction, with hundreds of SRK fans gathering outside daily to catch a glimpse of their favorite star. The Khan family has lived in this landmark bungalow for 25 years, but by the end of this year, they will temporarily relocate to facilitate the addition of extra floors to the property.

Mannat is a Grade-3 heritage structure, requiring special approvals for any modifications. The necessary permissions were recently obtained, and renovation work is set to begin in May. With the construction set to take time, Shah Rukh and his family will shift to a luxury rental residence until the work is completed.

Shah Rukh Khan, along with his wife Gauri Khan and children Aryan, Suhana, and Abram, will be moving into a luxurious apartment complex in Bandra’s Pali Hill area. The superstar has leased four floors in this upscale building from film producer Vashu Bhagnani. The deal was finalized with Bhagnani’s son, actor Jackky Bhagnani, and daughter Deepshikha Deshmukh.

The four floors will accommodate not just the Khan family but also their security team and staff. Shah Rukh will be paying a monthly rent of Rs 24 lakh for this space. The lease is for a three-year period, and he has also paid a security deposit of Rs 36 lakh.

SRK has leased two duplex apartments in the building, Pooja Casa—one on the 1st and 2nd floors and another on the 7th and 8th floors. The first duplex has been leased for Rs 11.54 lakh per month, while the second is rented at Rs 12.61 lakh per month. The agreements were registered on February 14, with a stamp duty of Rs 2.22 lakh and a registration fee of Rs 2,000 paid.
