The Maharashtra RERA has directed the realty developers to set up a grievances’ redressal cell to dispose of the complaints of the home buyers. The cell should be manned by an officer who would be able to dispose of the grievances. To this effect, orders have been issued in this direction. Generally, the property buyers will hold meetings with project sales and marketing teams at the time of purchase of property.
In case of problems cropping up in the exercise, it is not known who would resolve the grievances. In this backdrop, the RERA opined that if a grievances cell is established by the developers it would be beneficial to the customers. The buyers would be able to get official information and also resolution of their problems, he said. Therefore, the realtors should establish the cells, ruled the RERA. The grievances redressal official’s name and address should be highlighted near the project site and the same should reflect in the official website of the realtors, the RERA said.
