The RERA Central Advisory Council (CAC) will meet on May 12 to discuss the safety precautions to be taken in the case of high-rise buildings in the wake of the recent partial collapse of a residential building in Gurugram. The CAC is chaired by Union Housing and Urban Affairs Minister Hardeep Singh Puri.
The panel has a total of 30 members, including the CEO of the Niti Ayog, secretaries of various ministries, presidents of Credai and Naredco, and the president of the Forum for People’s Collective Efforts. The meeting will also focus on measures such as inspecting large projects from time to time during construction and conducting structural audits. It will also address the issue of RERA implementation in the States and Union Territories. The meeting will also discuss proposals to set up a committee to decide on a number of key projects that have stalled.
