How bad would it be if relatives and guests came into our house and were greeted by discoloured tiles? Hence, many home buyers do not compromise on tiles at all. However, due to the competition in this segment, some inferior tiles have entered the market. At first, they look attractive, but they will fade in colour as the days pass. As a result, you will have to re-tile again. So, what should be done to avoid this kind of trouble?
Generally, as per RERA norms, builders have to ensure that the flats are solid within five years after handover. Hence, care should be taken in the selection of tiles. The focus should be on quality rather than just price. After compromising on the price and getting the tiles, if you know that they are inferior, then you will be cheated. Therefore, in the matter of tiles, focus should be on quality. You must know what kind of material is used in the manufacture of the tiles. It should be remembered that tiles are of quality only if good glazing and raw materials are used. It is best if the type of tile you buy has an L value of at least 85 or more.
If the L value is reduced, there is a possibility that the tile will gradually become inferior in two or three years.
