The Telangana Pollution Control Board has issued a show-cause notice to Phoenix Spaces Private Limited, which is operating a ready-mix concrete plant among residences. The plant, located at survey numbers 285 part, 286 part, and 287 part in Puppalaguda of Gandipet mandal, has been causing issues such as noise and air pollution for residents of Navanami Residency, who filed complaints with the PCB.
The board initially ordered the closure of the plant on September 19, 2022. However, the plant management successfully overturned this decision on June 26, 2024. Following new complaints from Navanami Residency residents on the 7th and 14th of this month, PCB officials conducted inspections and confirmed that the plant was contributing to pollution. The board has now issued a show-cause notice asking why the plant should not be shut down, and has directed a response within seven days.
