Residents of Omax Housing Society recently hit the streets raising slogans against their builder and asked the people to not to buy properties with Omaxe projects as the amenities offered are highly substandard. The protesters highlighted their problems. “We have sent many pleas to the builder, but the latter ignored them. As there is no alternative, we have decided to protest. If our problems are not resolved immediately, we will intensify our agitation,” said Omax Residents’ Welfare Association president Pradeep Gupta said. Omax is described as heaven, but in reality it is otherwise, he said. Developer, having collected crores of rupees from the customers, provided sub-standard facilities, he said, raising a banner of revolt against the builder. At the time of sale of the flat, he offered 100% power backup facility. But, the backup facility offered was not even 25%, he quipped. The power gets tripped often, forcing the inmates of the project to spend sleepless nights as the distribution power lines laid were of substandard, he said accusing the builder of being apathetic to their complaints.
