- Electronics unit to provide jobs to 25,000
- Company’s plant to be set up at a cost of Rs 4000
The Foxconn company– an electronics major in Taiwan, has come forward to set up its unit with an investment of Rs 4000 crore. The bhumi puja was performed for the plant by IT Minister KTR in Kongarakalan village of Rangareddy district. The unit, once it goes on stream, is likely to provide jobs to at least 25000. Foxconn has decided to set up its plant in India to augment its production capacity more than its production in China.
Speaking after laying the foundation stone, KTR said Foxconn is one of the major suppliers of components to Apple phones. The plant at Kongarakalan would manufacture air pods for the Apple industry. The plant is going to lend much needed support to the state’s economy. In the first phase, the plant is coming up on a site of 200 acres at a cost of Rs 4000 crore. The company will provide employment to at least one lakh persons both directly and indirectly.
