House over gold..

Decreasing Interest of Women in Gold

Women’s Interest in Real Estate Investments increases

Growing Role of Women in Home Purchasing

Women Claim Higher Returns with Real Estate Investments

Gold… just hearing the name excites many women. In Indian culture, the bond between gold and women is very special. While women have traditionally shown a strong preference for gold, there is now a noticeable shift in their attitude. Yes, instead of buying gold, today’s women are investing their money in real estate. Real estate experts say that the number of women buying homes is steadily increasing compared to those purchasing gold.

Gold has significant importance in Indian tradition, especially for women who have a deep affection for it. Adorning oneself with gold is considered a part of the culture, and it is also regarded as a form of wealth. Hence, many women invest their money in gold not just for adornment but also as an investment. Many invest in gold along with the stock markets. However, a clear change is now evident among women. Instead of focusing solely on buying gold, many women now prefer to invest their savings in sectors that offer higher returns than gold.

Recently, women have been investing more in the real estate sector instead of gold. Women are emerging as independent home buyers and investors. They believe that while the value of gold may increase only slightly when kept at home, investing in real estate offers a quicker appreciation of investment value. As a result, the number of women viewing real estate as an investment, rather than just gold, is gradually increasing. Real estate experts report that the number of women buying homes both for personal use and as investments is growing each year.

Women from various backgrounds, ranging from the middle class to affluent individuals, are showing more interest in investing in real estate rather than gold. They express the opinion that gold does not provide significant growth and poses security issues, often requiring storage in bank lockers. On the other hand, investing in real estate is believed to offer higher returns in a shorter period. However, it appears that a majority of women are interested in investing in smaller, affordable properties due to budget constraints. Women are investing in the real estate sector with amounts ranging from approximately Rs 10 lakh to Rs 1 crore, depending on the property.

Real estate experts cite past survey results as evidence of this trend. In 2019, 57% of women showed interest in home purchases, which increased to 62% by 2020. By 2021, the interest in home buying among women had risen to 64%. Currently, real estate experts estimate that over 75% of women prefer investing in real estate over gold. Today’s women are proving that they excel not only in managing households but also in making home purchasing decisions.
