RegNews, Gurgaon: Property buyers insist on builders meeting deadline as far as their flat or home is concerned. That is why, many prefer ready-to-move properties and under constructions projects rather than the projects yet to be launched. There were instances of some builders giving lot of trouble to buyers but not honoring the deadlines.
In a latest development, a case was registered against such a builder. Acting on the directions of court, a case was registered against director of the construction company posing problems to buyers by not completing the project or not returning them their money either. In spite of receiving full amount from the buyers many years ago, the builder did not ground the project at all.
In spite of buyers lodging a complaint with the police, the police did not take action. However, with the court’s intervention, the police have to lodge an FIR. The company director attributed the delay to Covid-19 and replied that the company is making arrangements to ground the project.
In 2014, the firm attracted buyers offering to sell 1941-sft 3-BHK flat at Rs 50.50 lakh. He builder is supposed to deliver it in 2018. The builder asked the buyer to pay the whole amount upfront. Several have paid the cash upfront. Afterwards, the builder did not bother to start work on the project. In fact, no construction activity had taken place at the site. There was no ray of hope of construction taking place there. Moreover, the builder is silent on returning the money to buyers. In 2018, the site office was closed down. The hoardings and posters of the company were also removed. When the buyers approached the company office, the management did not allow them to meet the directors. When the matter was complained to the police, the police did not take any action forcing the buyers to move court, according to Ajay Jain a resident of Sector 54 in Gurgoan.
He said that the buyer lost interest on the amount paid to the builder and more over, paid house rent as their flat was not built. As such, he and other buyers have landed in financial difficulties. The CHD Developer is posing problems to buyers, he said adding that a FIR was registered against the company on court’s directions.
