Several buyers of properties, who suffered damage due to Comissions and commissions of builders, have been making rounds to the Revenue Departments to get their compensation. But, there was no use even after making rounds to the revenue offices for several years. The RERA has directed the authorities to recover land revenue dues from builders and give it to the victims as compensation. Because of dereliction to duty by revenue authorities, the direction is not being implemented properly.
In 631 cases, the RERA asked the authorities to recover Rs 258 crore from 125 builders and pay compensation to victims. However, only Rs 8 crore was recovered from builders in 17 cases. The authorities are yet to recover Rs 250 crore in 614 cases. Hitherto, the victims made rounds to the offices of builders are now making rounds to the offices of Tahsildars, enquiring them what happened to their compensation amount. They appeal to Karnataka CM Baswaraj Bommai for intervention and take suitable remedial measures.
