The Government of Haryana has directed builders to complete the safety audit of their structures three or four times before the completion. Chief Minister Manoharlal Khatar said while releasing the guidelines to be followed on the safety standards in real estate sector.
Speaking after releasing the guidelines, Manohar Khattar expressed concern over builders not adhering to the guidelines. Out of 2000 builders, only 15 persons received completion certificates since 1985. Many builders are negligent to obtain the certificate which endorses completion of all works in the colony as per the blue print. After obtaining the certificate, it is mandatory on the part of the builders to maintain the residential colony for five years. Afterwards, the builders can hand it over to the government agency.
The CM ordered the Town and Country Planning Department to prepare a list of 100 developers and get their pending works completed. Later, the colonies should be handed over to the concerned welfare associations. He called for employing a nodal officer to get all these works executed transparently. He said that he would review the progress of the works from time to time. He said that the Government of Haryana will bring out a policy to hand over the residential projects to welfare associations in an appropriate method.
