- Children waking up screaming
- Adults unable to sleep
- Troublesome for IT employees
- Complaint lodged to Minister KTR, Cyberabad Commissioner
- Strict rules should be established to prevent this nuisance
Notwithstanding the Prime Minister‘s visit to Hyderabad, the city builders are busy blasting explosives as per their whims and wishes, especially in residential areas. Builders constructing apartments in areas like Gachibowli, Tellapur, Kollur, Patancheru, Bachupally and Miyapur are not even fearing the police. Blasting is being done mercilessly despite repeated requests from the locals. They are creating a nuisance by blasting the boulders and giving sleepless nights to the residents in the vicinity. Most of them are continuing these explosions with the blessings of the top authorities upon paying necessary ‘fee’ (read bribe) and hence, no action is being taken even after people are lodging their complaints. Under these circumstances, people are demanding for stringent rules for builders constructing apartments in the residential areas.
People are not objecting to new construction projects in Hyderabad as owning a house is everyone’s dream and it can be realised only when new apartments are developed. However, they want the developers to follow certain rules to continue their construction work. In particular, people are demanding that builders who are undertaking construction work in the residential areas should not create nuisance to the local public. If blasting has to be done in Hyderabad, permission should be taken from the Commissioner of Cyberabad. However, the builders are obtaining permissions by promising nominal use of explosives and terrorising people by blasting explosives on a large scale.
Recently, Primark Builders, which is building an apartment next to SMR Vinay City in Miyapur, has been blasting explosives during the afternoon. In another site adjacent to it, the promoters took up construction work which in turn is depriving sleep for infants, students, adults and women alike, apart from disturbing the IT employees who work during odd hours for their clients from the US and the European countries. Recently, they lodged complaints to Municipal Administration Minister KT Rama Rao, GHMC Commissioner Lokesh Kumar, Cyberabad Commissioner Stephen Ravindra and other officials. A written complaint was also submitted to the local police station. However, these builders did not stop the work even during the night and continue to blast explosives.
